Project Description:

The team of Urban Design Perspectives, led by Alicia Belton AIA, and Charles Levin Architects was awarded the architectural design contract for the University of Minnesota's $2.9 million Urban Research and Outreach Center (UROC) in June, 2008. The project is a 21,000 square foot remodeling of a 1970's strip shopping center located on Plymouth Avenue east of the intersection with Penn Ave. N.

Other design team members were: Close Landscape Architecture, BCG Structural Engineers, Martin Pevsner Mechanical Engineers, Wunderlich Malec Electrical Engineers, Rani Civil Engineers and public artist Seitu Jones.

Construction began in April, 2009 and was substantially completed for occupancy in late September, 2009. General Contractor was Stahl Construction of Minneapolis, MN.

Project Status:
Currently completing the Contract Administration Phase.
